South Orange Commons III, LLC purchased the long-vacant property at 9 West South Orange Avenue. The closing took place on June 2, 2011. South Orange Commons is an entity owned by Edward E. Ayuso II, Mark L. Berger, and an affiliate of Stamford, Connecticut-based Soundview Real Estate Partners.
Edward Ayuso took control of the former Beifus Mercedes site in South Orange only two years ago, but he had taken notice of it long before that. As a developer based in the Essex County village, he watched as weeds grew on the empty, half- acre lot that was steps from the downtown train station.
In South Orange, Jarmel Kizel is currently designing a luxury mixed-use building for South Orange Commons, III, LLC owned by Edward Ayuso and Mark Berger. South Orange Commons will span four stories and consists of 57 luxury apartment units.
